Ashok Sharma is posted in Haridaspur as the new inspector in charge. It is a remote village where everything seems to be in harmony until he rescues a widow and a blind man from Nishikant Shah and his men. The latter realizes that the former is a new officer on duty and trues to get him onto his side and make peace but Ashok refuses and insults him. He gets into Shah’s bad books as he is known to be a ruthless man who does not spare his enemies. Meanwhile Ashok lives on rent in a house that belongs to a girl named Asha and also gets friendly with a small orphan boy named Chotu. Turns out Chotu’s father was killed by non other than Shah. He promises the boy justice.
The film is directed and produced by Pramod Chakravorty. The music is composed by R D Burman. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Abhimanyu Mukherjee. The cinematography is by V K Murthy and S Kumar. The star cast includes Rajesh Khanna, Shabana Saddique, Prem Chopra, Ashok Kumar, Raj Kiran, Arun Govil, Om Shivpuri, Sudhir, Mac Mohan, Arun Govil and Komal Mahuvakar.
