Based in Kashmir, the story revolves around the Kashmiri Pandits who were subjected to utter indignity not just from the Mujahaideen extremists but also the Indian government, friends, neighbors and were labeled as refugees in their own country. The disappointment and anguish was wide spread among the Pandits as lost their homes and homeland. One Kashmiri Pandit in particular, Amarnath, refused to leave Srinagar and go. He wants to avenge the death of his son who was brutally killed during the unrest by the Muslim Jihaadis. This happened after an American Human Rights group claimed that Kashmir valley was peaceful and there was no violence.
Amarnath knows that he will have to fight a very tough battle where the International community makes a huge deal about 2-3 dead Americans but has no regard for the death of people in another country, especially India. There is red tape and bureaucracy all around, which they must fight to get justice and make their voice heard.
