In the village of Ramgarh an ex-police officer Thakur Baldev Singh, played by Sanjeev Kumar has his entire family killed and his hands cut off by Gabbar Singh, played by Amjad Khan. He assigns the job of destroying Gabbar to two small time robbers namely, Veeru, played by Dharmendra and Jai, played by Amitabh Bachchan. The government has kept a reward of 50,000 to capture Gabbar but Thakur promises them an additional 20,000 to bring him alive to him.
While in Ramgarh, Veeru falls in love with Basanti who drives a horse cart while Jai is besotted by Thakur’s widowed daughter-in-law Radha, Jaya Bachchan. Jai and Veeru meanwhile hatch their own plan to take all of Thakur’s wealth and run off but seeing the injustice done by Gabbar on the people of Ramgarh, they change their mind. During one of their struggles to catch Gabbar, Veeru and Basanti are abducted by him. Jai comes to rescue them and in the gunfire gets killed while Veeru takes Gabbar alive to Thakur who destroys his hands with his spiked shoes and later police arrest Gabbar.
After Jai’s funeral, Veeru leaves Ramgarh with Basanti waiting for him at the train station. Radha is left alone again. Sholay 3D is directed by Ramesh Sippy and produced by G.P Sippy. The music is composed by R.D Burman.
