Shyam is a hard working and middle class man. Certain circumstances in his life make him marry the snobbish and arrogant wealthy Rukhmini. They both have a lot of things uncommon and constantly disagree with each other. Things take a drastic turn in their life when Rukhmini, without consulting Shyam has an operation to avoid getting pregnant much to his displeasure. This creates a lot of cracks in their marriage and they are on the verge of separation. Rukhmini who is unaffected by the hostility of Shyam suggests to him that he should have an affir with the poor accountant Gopal’s daughter Radha. Surprisingly Shyam gets along very well with Radha and both fall in love. The film is directed and
produced by Saawan Kumar. The music is composed by Usha Khanna. And the screenplay is written by Vijay Kaul. The star cast includes Rajesh Khanna, Tina Munim, Padmini Kolhapure, Shreeram Lagu and Prem Chopra.
