The story of the movie revolves around the subject of pedophilia and the slums of Bombay. The slums are a huge part of the city and there is a lot of things going on in there that is not known to the ones outside. There is a water mafia that is controlling the activities in the slums and people fear them for they are capable of anything and the slum dwellers are at their mercy. Another aspect of the movie is the modernization and the changes it has brought on sexuality. People are not very accepting of this new concept and keep a distance.
The movie is directed by Dev Benegal and produced by Anuradha Parikh. The screenplay is written by Farrukh Dhondy. The star cast includes Rahul Bose,Shivaji Satam,Ayesh Dharker, Laila Rouass, Haider Mulla,Kiran Nagarkar,Dev Benegal,Veerendra Saxena,Aamir Bashir,Rajika Puri, Farida Jalal, Irawati Harshe and Loveleen Mishra. The music is composed by Nitin Sawhney. The cinematography is by Sukumar Jatania.
