Suhaag is directed by Manmohan Desai, produced by Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Shakti Sharma, Prakash Trehan. Released on 16th November 1979. Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Rekha, Parveen Babi, NIrupa Roy and Amjad Khan are the pivotal stars in this film.

It is a story about Durga (Nirupa Roy) & Vikram Kapoor (Amjad Khan) who takes to crime in a big way makes enemies with Jaggi (Kader Khan). Durga gives birth to not identical twin boys and one of the twin is kidnapped by Jaggi and sold to a bootlegger Pascal (Jeevan). Durga is devastated and her husband also abandons her. She brings up her son Kishen (Shashi Kapoor) against lots of hardships and grows to become a police officer. Pascal has exploited Amit (Amitabh Bachchan) to become a petty criminal and alcoholic. Amit and Kishen become good friends. Vikram hires Amit to kill Kishen not knowing both are his sons. Amit tells Kishen about the plan and they take the help of the police, keeping an alert but kishen is attacked in the fight and losses his eyesight.

The movie has dance, romance, stunts and was remade in Tamil & Telugu.
