Basanti is a happy-go-lucky charming young girl, living in the scenic hills of Madhopur. She makes ends meet by running a small shop by the name of ‘Basanti’s Shop’ in the vicinity, where she sells dolls and other curio items. One day a singer named Raj Kumar comes to the village to perform in the near by hotel and meets with Basanti. they both fall in love are plan to get married. However Raj wants to bring his mother to
introduce to Basanti and thus promises to be back soon with her. Days turn into months and there is no sign of Raj. Basanti’s friend Gopi decides to go to Bombay to look for Raj and there he sees him performing for a group of girls in a hotel room and is upset. Knowing the real reason behind Raj’s betrayal, shock Gopi and he returns to give the news to Basanti. The film is directed by Chander ahl and produced by Tarachand Barjatya. The music is composed by Raam Laxman. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Ranjeeta, Iftekhar, Ram Mohan and Kishore Kapoor.
