Inderjeet is a wealthy businessman and happily married to Gayatri. Their happiness however is short-lived as Gayatri is unable to bear children. This causes a huge strain in their relationship and Inderjeet starts to stray into brothels. There he meets the beautiful prostitute Sitara and both fall in love. One night after getting intimate, Sitara finds out that she is pregnant. Soon Gayatri comes to know of his affair and wants to take away the happiness from Sitara’s life. Unfortunately Inderjeet dies in a plane crash and Gayatri invites Sitara to meet her. After the latter gives birth to a boy, Gayatri lies to her that he was still-born and keeps the baby for herself. Sitara moves on with her life in devastation.Years later the child who is named Sunny grows up and falls in love with Amrita. Gayatri comes to know that Amrita is a singer and dancer on TV and opposes the marriage. Sunny is however adamant ad wants his mother to meet Amrita’s family. Turns out, Amrita is non other than Sitara’s niece and this union will never be possible for Gayatri and she is now even more against the marriage. The film is directed by Raj Khosla and produced
by Amarjeet. The music is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Sunny Deol, Amrita Singh, Waheeda Rehman, Sharmila Tagore, Satyen Kappu, Vikas Anand and Dharmendra.
