ManekMulla recounts stories of three women he knew and depicts his interaction with them from his own perspective. He tells this to two of his friends. The first woman comes from a middle class upbringing; the second comes from a rich and affluent household, while the third is from a poor background. Their stories are however perceived differently by different lead characters in the film. The film goes into flashback narrating the stories of these three very different women. The story is woven together as one.
The film is directed and produced by ShyamBenegal. The music is composed by Vanraj Bhatia and the lyrics are written by Vasant Dev. The screenplay and dialogues are written by SharnaJaidi. The cinematography is by Piyush Shah. The star cast includes Amrish Puri, Neena Gupta,Pallavi Joshi, Rajit Kapoor, Anang Desai,K K Raina, RaghuvirYadav and Rajeshwari Sachdeo.
