Swami, played by Manoj Bajpayee works as a mechanic in an automobile shop and barely earns enough to lead a comfortable life. He gets married to Radha, played by Juhi Chawla and they sell their home and decide to move to Mumbai for better prospects. Radha gives birth to a baby boy named Anand, who exceeds their expectations at being very intelligent and smart at a very young age. Radha decides that he must gain good education and go to America where he will prosper.
Swami and Radha take Anand to a prestigious school in Mumbai to enroll him, but to their bad luck he is denied admission due to them not being very learned. Anand sees the disappointment on their parent’s face and talks to the principal himself. Stunned by the boys innocence and determination, the principal gives him admission. Swami one day sees a beautiful rocking chair and desires to have it but changes his mind on seeing the price tag of Rs 18,500. One day Radha gets terrible stomach pain and is shown to the doctor. The doctor says she has kidney disease and can be treated only with operation, which will cost Rs 25,000.
Swami works hard and saves money in a box for Radha’s operation. One day on returning home, he sees the same beautiful rocking chair in their house and the money in the box all gone. He realizes that Radha out of love got him the chair. He again starts to save money but one day, Radha’s condition worsens and she tells Swami to do everything in his capacity to send Anand to America and passes away. Swami takes this as her last wish and works towards it.
The movie is directed by Ganesh Acharya and produced by Pushpa Krishna Creations. The music is composed by Nitz ‘N’ Sony.
