Vijay Kumar is the respected sarpanch of the village and lives with his wife Lakshmi and younger unmarried brother Ravi. Vijay and Lakshmi have no children but hope that changes some day. Meanwhile Ravi falls in love and marries Lalitha, the daughter of a corrupt grocery store owner, Milavatram. His brother in law Pannalal is at logger heads with Vijay and wants to bring him down. Lakshmi and Lalitha live harmoniously together and build a happy household together. Soon Lakshmi expects a baby and so does Lalitha but unfortunately the latter has a miscarriage and loses the baby. Vijay and Lakshmi give their own baby to her.
Soon things get complicated when Pannalal and Milavatram ask Ravi to demand a share of his brother’s property. They try to create a rift between the two brothers. Ravi and Vijay however reconcile and realize that family is everything. The film is directed by K Bapaiah and produced by K Ravi Shankar. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and the screenplay is written by Gyandev Agnihotri Ravi. The star cast includes Jeetendra, Mithun Chakraborty, Jayapradha, Padmini Kolhapure, Kader Khan, Asrani, Satyen Kappu, Prem Chopra, Mushtaq Merchant, Shubha Khote, Aruna Irani, Neeta Mehta, Shoma Anand and Prema Narayan.
