Mr. Kumar lives a wealthy life in a palatial mansion with his wife, sister Jyoti and two brothers Ravi and Vicky. He also has a loyal housekeeper named Krishna who considers Mr. Kumar like his father figure and calls him Sabji. One day a conniving businessman named Dhanraj wants to start a venture with Kumar but he disapproves of it. Taking this as an insult, he decides to avenge the humiliation by burning down Kumar’s factory. He is left literally penniless and forced to vacate his mansion. His wife cannot take the shock and dies. The brothers who are hand in glove with Dharaj then take over the mansion and property. They also accuse Krishna of stealing and Kumar taking this opportunity of saving the life of Krishna fires him so he can be a better man. Krishna later realizes why Sabji fired him and goes to the city earns a lot of money and becomes a film star.
Krishna returns to return the favor and kindness of his master Sabji and burns down Dhanraj’s factory and buys his master’s old mansion from him. He then teaches his brother Ravi and Vicky a lesson by duping them in business. Meanwhile Jyoti and Krishna fall in love and Sabji approves of their relation before breathing his last. The film is directed by David Dhawan and produced by Nandu G Tolani. The music is composed by Anand Milind. The star cast includes Rajesh Khanna, Govinda, Juhi Chawla, Madhavi, Dilip Dhawan, Raja Bundela, Bharat Kapoor, Arun Bakshi and Mahesh Anand.
