Thakur Shakti Singh loves hunting wild animals and he is challenged to try and also hunt a dreaded dacoit named Bhawani Singh, who has been wrecking havoc in the village. He accepts the challenge and goes on a rampage looking for the dacoit. Soon he meets the beautiful village belle named Devi and falls in love with her. The two lovers get married and return home. Shakti Singh’s step-mother dislikes Devi and wants to get rid of her. So she along with her brother, his son and friends plan to eliminate her. When Shakti is out of town, the men try to molest her. In a drunken state, they fall for their own plot and Shakti’s step mother, her son and friends die in a fire that engulfs their palatial home. Meanwhile Devi escapes and is rescued by Bhawani Singh. She is then arrested and convicted of the murders. Shakti Singh is unable to save his wife as all the evidence points to her. Soon Bhawani comes to her rescue again and she becomes a full fledged dacoit. Soon she gives birth to Shakti’s son. The film is directed by Narinder Bedi and produced by raaj Grover, Shibranjan Majumdar. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The star cast includes Vinod Khanna, Raakhee, Parveen Babi, Pran, Bharat Bhushan, Baharat Kapoor, Chandra Shekhar, Rajendranath, Shammi and Nadira.
