Shankar is an angry young man. He is asked to stay out of the city due to a police case registered against his name. Meanwhile one night he rescues a woman named Namkeen from some goons. On a closer look he realizes that she is a look-a-like of a wealthy woman named Mohinidevi. Seeing this as an opportunity to get wealth he asks Namkeen to impersonate her. Namkeen agrees as a way to replay Shankar for saving her life. This goes on for a while and no one suspects anything but how far can they go with their lie and where is the real Mohinidevi.
The film is directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. The music is composed by Nadeem Shravan and the lyrics are written by Sameer. The cinematography is by Pravin Bhatt. The story is written by Javed Siddiqui and Robin Bhatt. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Pooja Bhatt, Juhi Chawla, Anupam Kher, Vikram Gokhale, Tiku Talsania, Gulshan Grover and Sadashiv Amrapurkar.
