Set in 1975, in Bombay, as transgender called Tikku earns his living by working as a hair dresser and makeup artist for film heroines. His old and crippled mother is dependent on him. After his mother passes away, Tikku gets extremely lonely and is inconsolable with grief. One day as fate may have it, Tikku witnesses a woman dropping a child into the garbage bin and flees. Having a kind and compassionate heart, he picks up the wailing baby girl and brings her home. He decides to care for the baby and names her Tamanna.
Soon Tamanna grows up to be a beautiful girl and compeltes her education. Tikku then comes to know that she is infact the daughter of a well-known politician who had not wanted a girl child and thus got rid of her. Tamanna now goes to her biological parents for answers. The movie is directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Pooja Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. The music is composed by Anu Malik and the lyrics are written by Kaifi Azmi and Nida Fazli. The star cast includes Paresh Rawal, Manoj Bajpai, Pooja Bhatt, Sharad S Kapoor, Akshay Anand, Kamal Chopra, Chandu Parkhi, Baby Gazala, Reeta Bhaduri, Kunika, Sulbha Deshpande, Aabha Ranjan, Nadira, Johra Sehgal.
