Manu, played by R. Madhavan is an NRI doctor who comes to India from London to find a suitable bride and get married as per his parents wishes. They travel to Kanpur to meet Tanu, played by Kangana Ranaut and he falls in love with her the minute he sees her but she is fast asleep. Later she tells him that she had taken sleeping pills to avoid meeting him, as she loves someone else. She asks Manu to reject her. He does exactly that and takes the blame on himself.
Manu’s parents make him meet several girls but his heart is set on Tanu and he decides it’s best he doesn’t marry and leave for London. His friend Pappi takes him to their close friend Jassi’s wedding in Punjab. There Manu runs into Tanu and the two get talking and bonding. Meanwhile Tanu’s parents are also invited and Manu’s parents are also invited for the wedding and they both arrive at the same time. Tanu thinks its Manu’s plan to rekindle the cancelled engagement and gets upset with Manu.
Later Tanu’s boyfriend starts to ill treat her and she realizes how well Manu behaves with her, giving her respect she deserves. Eventually she falls in love with Manu and they decide to get married. The movie is directed by Aanand L. Rai and produced by Vinod Bachan and Shailesh R Singh. The music is composed by Krsna Solo and Kuly RDB.
