Dawood meets a tawaif/courtesan named Sultana. He is intrigued by her but has no feelings for her. Soon he is in such a situation that he has no choice but to marry her. Dawood is sadly in love with a upcoming author named Kaynat. The latter is devastated to know about her lovers marriage but moves on. Slowly but surely Sultana makes everyone like her. Dawood himself helplessly starts to fall in love with her to his surprise. Soon Suleman Seth proposes his love to Kaynat while Dawood is happy with Sultana. The film is directed by B R Chopra and produced by R C Kumar. The music is composed by Ravi. The story is written by Dr Masroor Alam and the screenplay is written by C J Pavri. The star cast includes Ashok Kumar, Rishi Kapoor, Rati Agnihotri, Poonam Dhillon, Deepak Parashar and Kader Khan.
