John, played by Amitabh Bachchan has been trying to get clues as to who abducted and murdered his granddaughter Angela since 8 Years. The 70 year old John, goes to the police station every single day in the hope that he might get some piece of important information. The case is handled by inspector Sarita, played by Vidya Balan hasn’t been able to get any more evidence but they continue to search.
John’s wife Nancy, played by Padmavathi Roa is confined to a wheelchair and cant help much but he is determined to nab the accused and get justice for Angela. Father Martin, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui was an inspector handling the case earlier but the fears of being unsuccessful in his endeavor made him quit and enter priesthood.
Meanwhile another kidnapping takes place in a very similar pattern as Angela’s and everyone sees a connection. The kidnapped boy is Rony, who is the grandson of Manohar, played by Sabyasachi Chakraborty. While police are putting the pieces together, it is discovered that John is the one who kidnapped Rony to take revenge from Manohar who is the actual kidnapper of his granddaughter Angela. Manohar confesses to the crime and reveals he did not murder her but after her escape while in captivity she accidentally fell on a car that was driven by Father Martin and died on the spot.
