"Test" is a upcoming new Tamil-language sports drama film directed by S. Sashikanth, written together with Suman Kumar, and produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra under the YNOT Studios banner. This new film features R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth Suryanarayan in major roles. The film's story revolves around a hotly contested test match of international cricket in Chennai and the interconnectedness of the lives of three individuals in the most unexpected manner.

The narrative is about "Saravanan" (R. Madhavan), "Kumudha" (Nayanthara), and "Arjun" (Siddharth), each with their own problem in their life. Saravanan is a former genius scientist who works in a canteen and is trying to deal with the struggle of his wife trying to birth a child. Kumudha tries to juggle her professional aspirations and personal dreams at the same time. Arjun is really into cricket and is giving up everything he has in his life for sport, but that comes with its struggles as well, including taking care of his wife, "Padma" (Meera Jasmine).

Arjun and Kumudha reconnect in a chance encounter when she gets him together with Saravanan. As Arjun’s cricket is played it has ripples in Saravanan and Kumudha’s lives, which leads to long-lasting legacy change.
