Munna aka Mahesh narrates his story to inspector Singh when asked where he had disappeared all these years. Mahesh’s parents had been mercilessly killed in a bank robbery and he along with his sister Jyoti moved to Bombay. There he met a poor but kind girl named Mohini and fell in love with her. She is also struggling with her cruel father Shyamlal, who makes her dance in clubs so he can earn money. He tried to get forced work out of his wife, but when she refused, he threw acid on her face and she ultimately committed suicide. Shyamlal had taken a huge loan from a gangster named Lotiya and to repay him he has to make Mohini dance and cannot let her get married to Munna.
Turns out Lotiya and his younger brother Chote Khan were responsible for Munna’s parents death and when the latter tried to molest Jyoti, Munna kills him. He is then arrested and tried in jail. However when he is about to kill Lotiya, inspector Singh comes to his aid and shoots Lotiya himself. The film is directed and produced by N Chandra. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The screenplay is written by N Chandra and Kamlesh Pandey. The star cast includes Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, Chunky Pandey, Kiran Kumar, Suresh Oberoi, Superna Anand, Annu Kapoor, Johnny Lever and Mandakini.
