The story of The Lost Tape is one with human emotions, fears, beliefs, trust and betrayal. The more you try to understand the supernatural the more confused one can get.
The story of the movie begins with 5 friends who embark on a journey into the deep forest of Chail, Himachal Pradesh, to explore an urban legend tale that they have been hearing about for a long time. The youngsters are unaware of the dangers that are going to encroach into their lives forever. As the friends keep going deeper into the woods they come face to face with the evil that lurks in the woods as well as face their own demons when life becomes an emergency.
The five friends are mysteriously never to be seen again after entering the wilderness of the thick forest. The investigation has been going on for years but no trace of the five has yet been found. Just when it's going to be a closed case forever, a digital video recorder is recovered from the deep end of the forest. It contains the footage of the five and what exactly transpired while they were in the jungle.
The movie is directed by Rakshit Dahiya and produced by Ashok Baphna. The movie’s star cast includes Ankuar Panchal, Esha Rajee, Nishantt Tanwar, Monali Sehgal and Shaurya Singh. The cinematography is by Dhaval Ganbote.
