Aditi, played by Priyanka Chopra and Niren, played by Farhan Akhtar fall in love and soon decide to get married. They are living in bliss and happiness when a certain, news doubles up all their joys. Aditi does a home pregnancy test and it comes positive. Scared and nervous initially, the couple embrace this gift from god with open arms. Aditi gives birth to a son named Ishaan. He is a bright and happy child. Soon the stork visits the loved up couple once again. This time the pregnancy is a little different. The pregnancy is smooth yet a complicated ride for Aditi and Niren is by her side at all times. Soon Aditi gives birth to a beautiful baby girl and they name her Aisha.
All their dreams and hopes come crashing down when the doctor makes a shocking revelation about Aisha. She is diagnosed with SCID (Severe combined immunodeficiency), a rare genetic disorder caused by mutations in different genes. This could be life threatening. The news devastates Niren and Aditi who didn’t know worry like this.
Aisha grows up with many health problems and runs in and out of hospital every now and then. Aisha and Niren struggle to keep their world together with the mounting bills and stress of looking after a sick child. Their marriage goes under immense pressure due to Aisha’s ill health but still they keep everything together somehow and love each other no matter what. Aisha, played by Zaira Wasim is a happy and positive child despite her fragile health. She prays to God that she should live longer but God has other plans for her.
The movie is directed by Shonali Bose and produced by Priyanka Chopra, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala.
