This super hit movie is directed by Yash Chopra, produced by Gulshan Rai, starring Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar, Raakhee, Hema Malini, Poonam Dhillon, Waheeda Rehman, Sachin, Prem Chopra. Released on the 5th of May 1978.

This movie is a multi-starrer film was also made in Tamil & Telugu. Raj Kumar Gupta (Sanjeev Kumar) has an affair with Shanti (Waheeda Rehman) but leaves her to marry a rich girl Kamini (Geeta Siddharth) and obeys his mother’s wish leaving a pregnant unwed Shanti.

She gives birth to a son Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan), brings him up and years later, on her death bed she tells him the truth about his father and Vijay decides to avenge the hardships faced by his mother and him. He comes to Delhi to take revenge by destroying all his businesses and takes over. Shekhar (Shashi Kapoor) & Kusum (Poonam Dhillon) are his half siblings. He comes across Geeta (Raakhee) who is Secretary to Shekhar.   Sheetal  (Hema Malini) is the love angle for Shashi Kapoor and owns one of the companies. Vijay Forgives Raj Kumar Gupta for his misdeeds on his death bed, and the family unite in the end while Vijay gets accepted as the son.

Veteran actor Sachin has a small role of a lover to the young Poonam Dhillon.
