Akshay, played by Emraan Hashmi is an artist working in Cape Town, South Africa. He is happy in his zone and enjoys his work as well as spending time with his friends. One day a girl called Sanjana, played by Soha Ali Khan bumps into his parked car and to apologize and pay for damages, she leaves a note for Akshay. He reads the note with her address on it and goes to meet her with his friend Vicky. They become good friends and eventually fall in love. Akshay and Sanjana later move in together and are completely in love and dream of a beautiful future together. However, happy times don’t last long in their lives, when Akshay finds out that his business isn’t doing too well. His financial problems increase so much that he sometimes takes it out on Sanjana.
Akshay manages to find a job in Sydney but Sanjana isn’t willing to relocate with him, leaving her own job. They have a fight and decide to break-up. After a few years they see eachother on a flifght and the memories of their relationship comes flooding back. The rains in Mumbai, meanwhile take a turn for the worse and the city is flooded. Vicky dies after being electrocuted in the water collected. Akshay and Sanjana meet each other in the floods and realize that even after the break-up they know that they still love each other and are destined to be together.
The movie is directed by Kunal Deshmukh and produced by Mahesh Bhatt. The music is composed by Pritam.
