Sulochana aka Sullu is a middle class housewife married to Ashok and has a 11 year old son. They live a contented and happy go luck life but Sullu wants to work professionally. Due to her not completing high school she is unable to get jobs of her choice. Her husband on the other hand is frustrated at his job and often humiliated by his new boss. One day Sullu participates in a radio contest and wins. When she goes to collect the prize she sees an audition opportunity for an RJ. She readily auditions for it and the manager decides to try her out for a night show where she will take calls from listeners. Soon the show becomes a hit but her family is against her night job and urges her to quit. Ashok however supports her. Her son starts misbehaving in school and is suspended. Sullu is blamed by her family for neglecting her house due to the job but she refutes all their claims.

 

Soon her son goes missing and apologizes in a letter that he is sorry that his mom has to quit her job because of him and asks his dad to support her. The police find him and bring him home. Sullu quits her job and one day decides to start a tiffin service. Fate takes a wonderful turn when Ashok decides to manage the tiffin service, while Sullu returns back to work. The film is directed by Suresh Triveni and produced by Krishan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, Atul Kasbekar, Tanuj Garg and Shanti Sivaram Maini. The star cast includes Manav Kaul, Vidya Balan, Neha Dhupia, Abhishek Sharma, Uday Lagoo, Vijay Maurya, Sindhu Shekharan, Shantanu Ghatak, Malishka Mendonsa, Seema Taneja and Trupti Khamkar.
