Rohan, studies at a boarding school in Shimla. He along with his three friends, gets expelled when they are caught watching an adult movie off the campus. He return to his hometown in Jamshedpur, where his abusive, alcoholic father lives along with his 6 year old step brother Arjun. His father forces him to work at his factory and study engineering. But Rohan wants to be a writer and his uncle supports him but father is against it.
Rohan purposely fails his exams so he wouldn’t have to pursue engineering any longer. One day Rohan returns home and sees Arjun injured and being rushed to the hospital. He later learns, that their father for losing an important contract beat him up.
His father also learns of Rohan failing the exam and thrashes him. He announces of remarrying and putting Arjun in boarding school, while Rohan will work full time in the factory. Angry at not being helped by his father, Rohan damages his car and is put in jail. He later asks Arjun to come to Mumbai with him and they leave their father’s house forever.
The movie is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and produced by Anurag Kashyap, Sanjay Singh and Ronnie Screwvala.
