Kali, played by Anshika Shrivastava is the daughter of Shalini, played by Padmini Kolhapure and Rahul, played by Rahul Bhat. The couple although divorced, the daughter and father have a strong bond. Shalini is now married to Shoumik Bose who is a Police chief. He keeps refusing to give her money and is indifferent to her. Rahul one day takes Kali with him in his car and while gone to meet someone, a mask seller kidnaps her. While chasing the mask seller he gets killed in an accident. They go to his house but his mother knows nothing about Kali.
Meanwhile, the man Chaitanya, who Rahul had gone to meet claims to have kidnapped Kali, but on further investigation it is known that he is just faking it as he has a grudge against Rahul from their college days. The police are now in a bigger mystery and increase their search for Kali. Rakhee who is a friend of Shalini, Chaitanya and Shalini’s brother Siddhant all take their turns at making fake ransom calls one after the other knowing very well that Kali’s whereabouts are not known to anyone.
They take this opportunity to get money out of Rahul, Shalini and Shoumik. Eventually Kali’s body is found near a bike, where, the mask seller originally kidnapped her. Ugly is directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Arun Rangachari
