Tripathi is a respected principal of a well-known science college. His brother Ajay, however is not focused in his studies and spends more time in writing poems. This makes the other professors tired of him and complain to Tripathi, who warns him to concentrate on his studies more. Ajay refuses to give up on his poetry and leaves home to establish himself as a well known poet. He takes his poems to publishers who find something missing in them. Later he meets with a girl named Nikita and falls in love with her. Ajay then relocates to Bombay and meets a film star Jyoti. He also starts drinking and gambling. His poems are one day stolen by some goons who earns a lot of money. Nikita then finds Ajay and wants him to go after his goal.
The movie is directed by Kalpana Bhardwaj and produced by Kalpana Bharadwaj and Vijay Sharma. The music is composed by Jatin Lalit and the lyrics are written by Dev Kohli and Madan Pal. The story and screenplay is written by Vijay Deveshwar. The cinematography is by Kamalakar Rao and the choreography is by Jay Borade. The star cast includes Aayush Kumar, Mamta Kulkarni, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Vijayendra Ghatge, Anjjan Shrivastava, Disco Shanti, Irrfan Khan, Rakesh Bedi, Tiku Talsania, Satyen Kappu, Jagdish Kapoor, Suchitra Krishnamurthi and Sreepradha.
