Vicky, played by Ayushmann Khurrana is the only son to his widowed Punjabi mother who runs a beauty Parlor in Delhi. He sometimes helps out in the parlor but is on the lookout for a good paying job for a comfortable life. Dr. Chaddha, played by Annu Kapoor is a fertility expert who runs a clinic that boasts of providing high quality sperm’s for couples who are unable to conceive naturally. He is always on the look out for healthy men to donate their sperm. He notices Vicky one day and starts observing him and following him. Impressed with him, he approaches Vicky to be a sperm donor and return he would be paid a hefty sum on money. At first Vicky refuses but after several pleads and convincing he finally agrees and starts giving his sperm.

 

Vicky’s mother is unaware of his new business of donating sperm. In fact he doesn’t let anyone know about this and keeps Dr. Chaddha away from his house and family. One day he meets Ashima, played by Yami Gautam at a bank and falls in love with her. Turns out Ashima is a Bengali divorcee and doesn’t reciprocate Vicky’s advances due to previous failed relationships. But he is persistent and eventually fall in love. After much objection from her parents for marrying into a Punjabi house, they finally agree to the wedding.

 

After the wedding Vicky continues donating sperms without the knowledge of Ashima. One day Ashima goes for a medical checkup and finds out that she will never be able to conceive a child and is devastated. He later tells her about his sperm donation and she gets furious and leaves him but he apologises to her and they decide to adopt a child that was born out of his sperm. The movie is directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by John Abraham and Ronnie Lahiri. The music is composed by Abhishek-Akshay Bann, Rochak Kohli and Ayushmann Khurrana.
