Malhar is a brilliant actor and wins many trophies but is never appreciated by his father. In college he meets Apoorva and falls in love with her. She is also a fine actress and when she wins the best actress award, she gives the credit to her mentor Malhar. Malhar misunderstands it for her love for him. She infact is in love with Nihal. They plan on getting married soon and get engaged. When Malhar hears this news, he thinks that Apoorva is forced into this marriage and protests to Nihal’s father but accidentally kills him. He is then jailed. Nihal’s father was a well known bureaucrat and with his death, Nihal himself loses his identity. This makes Apoorva’s father break their engagement.
In Jail, Malhar is only dreaming of Apoorva and marrying her. He then escapes jail and starts making money in wrong and illegal ways. He then finds an accomplice in a woman and she starts falling for him but he still thinks of Apoorva, who is now a journalist. Nihal is put on the case of strange murders in the city and meets Apoorva. Soon she meets Malhar face to face and tells him that she never loved him and this breaks his heart. The movie is directed and produced by N Chandra. The star cast includes Nana Patekar, Madhuri Dixit, Mukul Dev, Ramya Krishnan, Johnny Lever, Hemu Adhikari, Chandrakant Gokhale, Gulzar, Jagdeep, Sanjay Mishra, Parikshat Sahni, Tej Sapru, Shivaji Satam, Maya Alagh and Kunika.
