Radha is brought up in a wealthy household by her widowed father Raja. Her marriage is arranged to a man named Naresh who is of equal wealth and stature. However before the wedding could take place, a man named Arun enters the scene and claims that Radha is his wife and has enough evidence to prove it. He also gets along a witness named Prof. Peter Fernandes. Radha is shocked and bewildered at this confession as she has never seen Arun before in her life, How could she have been married to him then. Raj and her uncle Narendra make Radha sign a divorce notice to send to Arun but later she claims that she is indeed married to Arun. Meanwhile Naresh is arrested on drug charges and killed in jail. Raj is furious to learn of his son’s death and attacks Arun’s sister-in-law Laxmi. Days later Narendra’s dead body turns up stabbed. Arun’s brother confesses to the murder and is arrested.
Raj then abducts Radha, Laxmi and Arun and hide them in an isolated island. Things begin to get more complicated before Arun reveals the real truth behind being married to Radha. The film is directed by T Rama Rao and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and the story is written by B Krishna Rao. The star cast includes Ashok Kumar, Sunil Dutt, Dharmendra, Mithun Chakraborty, Sridevi, Moushumi Chatterjee, Prem Chopra, Shakti Kapoor, Kader Khan and Divya Rana.
