Uday, played by Nana Patekar and Majnu, played by Anil Kapoor want to get their sister Sanjana, played by Katrina Kaif married in a decent family but no one will associate themselves with his family since they are dons. They comes across Rajiv, played by Akshay Kumar who saves Sanjana’s life from a burning building and is attracted to her. Uday and Majnu make a plan to deceive Rajiv’s uncle Dr. Ghungaroo, played by Paresh Rawal. They are successful but after a while when he finds out that Sanjana’s brother’s are dreaded dons he breaks the alliance and goes off to South Africa.
Meanwhile Rajiv and Sanjana fall in love and after a lot of convincing Dr Ghungaroo too agrees to the engagement. A powerful don named RDX is invited to the engagement party. His son Lucky tries shooting Rajiv but instead get shot by Sanajana and everyone thinks he is dead but he is only unconscious. Later at the funeral he wakes up and RDX is relived. Sanjana and Rajiv finally decide to marry each other with everyone’s blessings and Uday and Majnu having left the world of crime far behind.
The movie is directed by Annes Bazmee and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. The music is composed by Sajid-Wajid and the cinematography is by Sanjay F. Gupta.
