Geeta Devi turns a widow at a young age and is left in despair. She then gets attracted to a neighbor’s advances whose name is Lalit, and starts living with him. Soon she is pregnant and gives birth to a daughter named Apsara. They seem to have a happy life until tragedy strikes. All of a sudden Lalit disappears without a trace leaving the two women behind. Their life then spirals out of control. Apsara has to leave school, the landlord throws them out due to non-payment of rent. They then move to a huntment and Geeta starts working as a maid. Soon Apsara comes to know that her father is now a politician in Delhi and asks her mother to go and beg him to take them back.
Geeta comes back rejected and takes heavily to drinking and eventually dies. Apsara now all alone starts working as a maid and falls in love with a elderly widower and lives with him. He one day passes away due to a heart attack, leaving Apsara alone again. She then takes to prostitution for a while and decides to go to Delhi to confront his father. When she screams at him telling him she is his daughter he ignores her and gets her killed by his goons.
The movie is directed by Subhankar Ghosh and produced by Ravi Malik. The music is composed by Sapan Jagmohan. The story and screenplay is written by AtulTiwari. The cinematography is by Moloy Dasgupta. The star cast includes Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Pallavi Joshi, Neena Gupta, Yogita Chheda, Swapnil Diwan and Tushar Mohile.
