Shankar Verma is an honest and fearless police inspector he is in love with Shashi. His younger brother Jai is however is a vagabond and a little brattish. He however is lenient to his brother at home even though he is a tough task master to the outside world. A group of five criminals plot to loot a bank and are successful. Jai however gets implicated in the crime and is on the run. Shankar is put on the assignment of nabbing Jai and getting him arrested. The group of gangsters now get killed one by one and Shankar feels it is the job of Jai and wants to get him dead or alive. Soon things get more complicated when Shashi sees him getting out of the house of one of the killed criminals.
The movie is directed by Umesh Mehra and produced by Parvesh Mehra. The music is composed by Anu Malik and the lyrics are written by Dev Kohli, Pooja and Qateel Shifai. The dialogues and screenplay is written by Shaktiman. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Saif Ali Khan, Shweta, Gulshsan, Prem Chopra, Puneet Issar, Johny Lever, Yunus Pervez, Jugnu, Umesh Shukla, Himani Shivpuri, Anjana Mumtaz, Amrita Pal and Shubha Khote.
