Dasrath, played by Nana Patekar is on his way to New Delhi to receive a literary prize, when he meets a young filmmaker Mohan, played by Nakul Vaid, who is a big fan of his work. They both start discussing about one of his prominent novels titled Janaaza, which is based on the life of a courtesan called Laajvanti. They both go back in time into their own perspective about the turbulent story of the beautiful protagonist. After the award ceremony though, Dasrath begins to think of his new novel Bazaar still reeling from the memories of his last.
Mysteriously Dasrath disappears from his hotel room and is nowhere to be found, causing panic and chaos among his family and friends. In reality he travels to Mehendi Galli in Hyderabad where people are eagerly flocking to see mujras. There he sees Laajvanti aka Laajobai now known as Miss Lisa. She is quite surprised to see him and invites him in. She then sings songs from their past and enjoy each other’s company. It’s a case of fiction turning into fact or vice versa.
