Saxena is a corrupt lawyer and wins cases by unlawful means. He has earned a lot of money through these malpractices. One day he sends criminal Shankar’s son to the juvenile prison for a murder. Shankar thus decides to avenge this and kidnaps one of Saxena’s newly born twins and names him Ratan. Shankar’s wife loves Ratan and brings him up with love. Ratan is taught to steal money, expensive belongings, etc from people. Meanwhile Saxena’s other child is named Ajay and he is given a foreign education and marries a while girl. One day things take a turn for the worse when Ajay is arrested for a girl’s murder. When Shankar comes to know of this, he asks Ratan to take his place. Soon Saxena’s wife understands that look-a-like Ratan is her lost twin son. The film is directed by T Rama Rao and produced by P Malikarjuna Rao. The music
is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Kamal Hasan, Poonam Dhillon, Ranjeet, Om Shivpuri, Satyen Kappu and Vijay Arora.
