Sunita lives in Kashmir and is a radio singer. She meets Vikram and both fall in love. They decide to get married soon and thus Vikram introduces her to his wealthy mother Sharda. The latter is however very business minded and does not accept the poor orphan Sunita. She wants her son to marry someone as rich as them. The young couple however defy his mother’s wish and decide to get married in a temple. However tragedy strikes on the way to the temple, when Vikram’s car has a horrific car accident. He gets badly injured and Sunita’s face gets completely disfigured from the shattered glass. Sharda then warns Sunita that Vikram will never live with her with that ugly face and she must never meet him again. She then lies to her son that Sunita died in the accident. Meanwhile Dr. Mehra helps to reconstruct Sunita’s face and treats her like his own daughter. Turns out her face is completely changed after the operation and now Vikram will never recognize her. The film is directed by Kapil Kapoor and produced by Ramesh Behl. The music is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Rishi Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Tina Munim, Sarika, Poonam Dhillon, Rakhee, Rakesh Bedi, Iftekhar, Agha and Rakesh Roshan.
