Savitri is a widow who lives with her twin boys Avinash and Junior. One day notorious gangster Gama abducts the twin boys and asks for a hefty ransom. Inspector Bhargav happens to reach the scene and in saving the children gets killed himself. Gama then quickly takes away one twin with him while the other is missing. Savitri then adopts Bhargav’s son Vikram and brings him up as his own. Vikram grows up to be a
tough and diligent police officer just like his dad. Savitri’s twin boys on the other hand are completely different from each other. Avinash becomes a well-known public prosecutor while Junior is a gangster who joins Gama, while being raised by him. Vikram and Avinash strike a friendship but every time a crime takes place Avinash is blamed for it. They then realize that it is Junior who has been committing the crimes, as he is his identical twin. Soon Vikram discovers this and helps Savitri unite with her lost sons. The film is directed by Rajiv Rai and produced by Gulshan Rai. The star cast includes Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Tina Munim, Nutan, Danny Denzongpa, Deven Verma, Shatrughan Sinha, Suresh Oberoi and Hema Malini.
