Kriya, played by Sushmita Sen is a bubby, loud and extroverted girl, who loves life and lives carefree and happy. She meets Dr. Suraj Rihan, played by Shiney Ahuja, who is a doctor at a hospital. He is quiet, polite and subdued, while Kriya is his exact opposite. Somehow he is instantly attracted to her even then. They start falling in love and she invites him over to her house to meet her family, which includes her mother and adopted son. They hit it off and become a close knit family.
One day Kriya’s adopted son has a major heath complication , where doctors discover a hole in his heart and an immediate surgery is required to save him. However, they are unable to find a donor at such a short period of time. Then Kriya does something that will be etched in everyone’s memory always and forever. She commits a medicine induced suicide so her heart can be used for her adopted son. It breaks Suraj’s heart to know he has lost his love forever. Later he is questioned by the police about Kriya’s death and he narrates the entire story to them.
The movie is directed by Tanuja Chandra and produced by Anurradha Prasad. The music is composed by Anu Malik.
