Bollywood Actor Saif Ali Khan was badly injured last night after being stabbed six times by an intruder, who intended a robbery at his Mumbai Residence.

The Bandra police confirmed that an intruder broke into the actors house at 2.30 am. The scuffle between them lead to the intruder stabbing Khan six times and then leaving the crime scene. Khan was immediately rushed to Lilawati hospital.

As per the statement from Lilawati Hospital the wounds are deep and near the spine. The actor underwent a 2.5 hour neurosurgery followed by a plastic surgery. He was operated by a team of Neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr Leena Jain, and anesthesiologist Dr Nisha Gandhi. He is stable now.

3 Attendants who work at the actors residence are being interrogated by the Mumbai crime branch, which has been assigned to investigate the matter.

An official statement has been issued by Saif Ali Khan's team saying, "There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan's residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It's a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation."
