Actor Sanjay Mishra feels lucky to have been given diverse set of roles and characters in Bollywood and not to be stereotyped as a comic actor. While the actor has been very popular for his comic roles in the past films namely like Golmaal Fun Unlimited, Dhamaal, All The Best : Fun Begins, Bunty Aur Babli, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 & 3.

Mishra feels grateful that Directors Rajat Kapoor and Subhash Kapoor allowed Mishra to explore diverse role in Ankhon Dekhi and Phas Gaye Re Obama. He also got an opportunity to showcase his talent as an actor with performance-driven characters in Masaan, Vadh and Bhakshak.

Mishra believes that it is the fear of losing money that prevents filmmakers from casting actors like him in more unconventional roles. While asks , 'If you don’t take a chance, then how will things change?

He stated the example of Mehmood who was known as a comedian, but he made films with serious message like Kunwara Baap, which was about polio vaccination. The actor said that Content driven films are the way ahead where you can do what you want to do, as compared to the industry which is fixated on a particular type of role suitable for a particular actor.
