The upcoming sci-fi action thriller Mission Lion was to re-unite Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar with filmmaker Jagan Shakti. The two previously created magic with the film Mission Mangal which also starred Vidya Balan among others. The film was to see the Bell Bottom star in a double role, but sadly the film has been put on hold. This is mainly due to the huge budget and scale of the movie. Adding Kumar’s and other actor’s fees as well as other factors, made the producers Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani think that it’s not the right scenario to make a film of this scale.

The production budget of Mission Lion was coming upwards 70 crores and the script too needed more work to satisfy the filmmaker as well as actor Akshay. Once the pandemic situation is better, the team will revisit the formalities. Jagan meanwhile is all set to direct the Hindi remake of Malayalam hit, Ayyappanum Koshiyum starring John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor.
