History repeats itself as Pandit and co-producer Vaishal Shah hit the jackpot once again after the success of 'Fakt Mahilao Mate'
Producer Anand Pandit and co-producer Vaishal Shah continue their winning streak in the Gujarati film industry with their multi-starrer 'Tron Ekka' making a smashing box office debut this week and registering a massive ₹5.75 Cr first weekend opening. The situational comedy starring the superhit trio of Yash Soni, Malhar Thakar, and Mitra Gadhvi is doing roaring business at the ticket window with a diverse audience including families thronging cinema halls in large numbers. Trade watchers are reporting skyrocketing collections, making the film the biggest first-day opener in the history of Gujarati cinema.
Trade Analyst Komal Nahata said, “Anand Pandit and Vaishal Shah's Gujarati film, 3 Ekka', is such an entertaining fare. The scripting is fresh. Rajesh Sharma's direction is very good. And the performances by all the lead actors is par excellence. Destined to score very well! The film opened to excellent houses all over Gujarat and Saurashtra on 25th August.”
Says a jubilant Pandit, "The audience’s love is the fourth ace behind Tron Ekka’s success! It vindicates my belief that we need to bring back wholesome family entertainers on the big screen and tell stories that feel both familiar and fresh. The rise of regional content in India, including the success of 'Tron Ekka' and before that of 'Fakt Mahilao Mate' proves that the audience wants relatable and yet unique stories from different cultural milieus."
The premiere of the film was attended by many luminaries of Gujarati cinema, and the current occupancy rates are indicative of the widespread audience acceptance of the film's theme and its star cast. Pandit says, "I wanted to bring together Yash Soni, Malhar Thakar, and Mitra Gadhvi in a film but was waiting for the right script. This theme of three friends caught in a web of their own making was a perfect opportunity to cast them together, and they have sensational chemistry! They recently made a surprise visit to a theatre and the audience’s response was overwhelming."
The film directed by Rajesh Singh and co-produced by Vaishal Shah's Jannock Films, is expected to rake in even more profits in the coming weeks due to festivals and holidays.
