As the death toll of covid cases in Mumbai continues, the Bollywood film industry is also the one having lost a lot of its members. Another name added sadly to the list is that of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Barfi editor Ajay Sharma. He had worked with filmmaker Anurag Basu in films like Jagga Jasoos and Ludo too. Ajay had unfortunately tested positive a few days ago and was hospitalised but his condition rapidly deteriorated and he passed away on 4th May 2021. Giving an emotional tribute to the talented editor Basu shared, “This is still difficult to accept. I barely have courage to write this. Ajay independently edited Jagga Jasoos, Ludo but he was associated with me since Life in a Metro, Barfi, Kites. He was my core team, my creative soundboard, my friend. So many dreams and plans were ahead waiting for him. Making films will not be the same anymore. Good bye my friend.” He even shared a picture of Sharma in happier times.

Ajay was working on the editing of the upcoming Taapsee Pannu starrer Rashmi Rocket in Delhi when he contracted the corona virus. After hours of efforts a bed was made available for him by Taapsee and filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, but sadly at midnight he collapsed and breathed his last.
