The movie features The Kerala Story actress Adah Sharma in the lead. Directed by Sudipto Sen Bastar: The Naxal Story is based on Naxalite–Maoist insurgency in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh.

They will also delve into a controversial chapter of JNU. The lead character of the movie IG Neerja Madhavan played by Adah Sharma is on a mission to defeat the Naxals from Bastar. Vipul Amrutlal Shah's Sunshine Pictures and co-produced by Aashin A. Shah, 'Bastar: The Naxal' will hit the theatres on March 15. The movie is directed by Sudipto Sen. Other than Adah Sharma Bastar: The Naxal Story features Shilpa Shukla, Yashpal Sharma, Subrat Dutta, Raima Sen and Anangsha Biswas.
