Taj – Divided by Blood, ZEE5's largest original series to date, was announced. Taj – Divided by Blood is a revelatory account of the inner workings and succession drama that played out in the hallowed chambers of the Mughal empire. It was produced by Contiloe Digital, with William Borthwick serving as the showrunner, Simon Fantauzzo serving as the writer, and Ronald Scalpello serving as the director.

Veteran actor Dharmendra, stunning Aditi Rao Hydari, attractive men Aashim Gulati, Taha Shah, Shubham Kumar Mehra, and versatile Sandhya Mridul, as well as spokespeople Manish Kalaria(Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 India), Nimisha Pandey (Chief Content Officer – Hindi Originals, ZEE5), and Producer Abhimanyu Singh of Contiloe Digital, attended the grand announcement in Mumbai The show's logo was revealed by drawing the curtains and lighting a 40-foot logo structure on fire at Carter Road promenade, Mumbai's most popular hangout. This shocked and excited the audience.

The reign of King Akbar, who is looking for a worthy successor for his great legacy, is depicted in Taj: Divided by Blood. The series tells the story of the dynasty's rise and fall through the generations. It shows how beautiful and brutal this great dynasty was, how much they loved art, poetry, and architecture, and how they made surprising cold-blooded decisions for their own family in the name of power.
