Based on true events of the Afghani rescue crisis, ‘Garud’ will document the story of an officer who works with Garud Commando Force, a special forces unit of the Indian Air Force. The film will give a fictional glimpse into the brave rescue mission in Afghanistan. Filmmakers Ajay Kapoor and Subhash Kale announced this big budget film and shared a motion poster of the film on social media. Talking about the film Kapoor said, “Subhash and I go long way and have been friends since years, when he approached me for Garud, I was really hooked to the script and instantly came on board. The film narrates inspirational, patriotic story with a strong emotional connect, we are looking forward to mount the story on a large scale to give proper justice to the script.” 

Ajay Kapoor is known for his films like Parmanu (2018), Romeo Akbar Walter (2019) and has also being associated with Baby (2015) and Airlift (2016). Garud’s cast and director are yet to be announced. It is written by Nidhi Singh Dharma of Mission Mangal fame and slated to release in theaters on 15th August 2022.
