Well-known names from the entertainment industry such as Kangana Ranaut, Govinda, Shatrughan Sinha, Hema Malini, Arun Govil, Ravi Kishan and others are gearing up for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Now one more name from the entertainment industry has joined the politics. Actor Shekhar Suman who recently appeared in the web series 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Today, on 7th May 2024 Bollywood actor Shekhar Suman joined the the Bharatiya Janata Party at Delhi headquarters. Well, this isn't the first time an actor has ventured into politics.

Shekhar Suman's Political Comeback: From Congress to BJP:

The actor is making his comeback into politics after 15 years. In 2009 Shekhar Suman fought the Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket from Patna Sahib. Heeramandi lost the election to actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha.

Shekhar Suman Expresses Gratitude to God for Political Opportunity In His Speech:

While giving the speech after receiving the ticket from BJP Shekhar Suman said, 'Till yesterday I did not know that I would be sitting here today because many things in life happen knowingly or unknowingly. I have come here with a very positive thinking and I would like to thank God that he ordered me to come here.'

Shekhar Suman is known for his work as a comedian and actor. He achieved immense popularity in the late 90's and early 2000's. Recently he appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Netflix series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. He played the character of Nawab Zulfiqar.
