Bollywood fireball Ranveer Singh has an infectious energy that whoever works with him can vouch for. The actor might not have had a great run at the box office this year, but his film ‘83 has definitely caught the eye of many. At the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2022, Singh has been honored with Best Actor of the year Award. The cricket biopic saw him essay the role of former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev. 

Speaking of receiving the honor Ranveer stated, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the jury members at IFFM for bestowing me with the Best Actor of the Year Award for my role as Kapil Dev. ‘83 is one of the most loved films of my career! It’ll always be one of the most cherished films in my filmography.”

Ranveer added, “I dedicate this honour to Kapil’s Devils, a fine bunch of gentlemen who dared to dream, who through their efforts and achievements showed us that we Indians can be the best in the world.” Ranveer Singh will next be seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus.
