Mohan Agashe is one of the finest actors not just in Marathi cinema but also has done commendable work in Bollywood. The Doghi actor has now donned the hat of a producer by backing ‘Dithee' by late filmmaker Sumitra Bhave. The veteran actor turned filmmaker is now gearing up for the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival where Dithee will be screened.

Agashe mentions how he wanted to produce the late Bhave’s unfinished script of the film Dithee. Speaking about her, the actor said, “When you collaborate with someone like her you enjoy the other avatar as producer.” Dithee’s story revolves around a man named Ramji who is a simple ironsmith. He is a staunch devotee of Vithal and follows the Waarkari tradition. However one tragic incident in his life turns everything upside down. The film will be directed and completed by Sunil Sukthankar who has helmed the National award winning film Kaasav. Speaking of cinema as a whole, Agashe said, “In my view - literature, film, theatre and music are all connected with emotion” He added, “If a director is bad even the finest actor can’t save a film.”
